The Duke of Edinburgh's Award in West Norfolk charity strives to increase awareness of the DofE Gold Award and ensures that the organisation can support the numbers and needs of current and future gold award candidates.
As an active committee, our chief aim is fundraising to provide Mountain Leader qualified trainers for the expedition section of the award which we do in partnership with the College of West Anglia. Our main annual fundraiser is a two day golf tournament and we are involved in smaller events throughout the year and explore sponsorship opportunities. Students also participate in an annual October sponsored walk to raise funds for their own award. Click here to find out how they got on this year! The majority of our candidates complete their gold award whilst aged 16-18 so we work closely with Smithdon High School, Springwood High School, King Edward VII School and the College of West Anglia with further support for other schools where possible.
